The Town of Springerville is accepting applications for the position of Battalion Chief with the Volunteer Fire Department. This is the first full-time position that the Town will hire within this Department. This non-exempt position reports directly to the Town Manager. Responsibilities include the day-to-day operations of the Department. The hiring range for the position is $16.94 to $24.15. The Springerville Fire Department has great pride in job they have done historically since 1948. The Department covers 600 square miles in Southern Apache County. They cover residential, commercial, wildland and wildland urban interface fires, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, and a myriad of other calls in their area with the equipment and personnel to handle the tasks. The Department conducts weekly training meetings and also sends personnel to Arizona Wildfire Academy as well as State Fire School and other trainings to ensure that the residents of Springerville have the fire protection they need. In addition, the Department das an accomplished Fire Prevention Program that has been serving the needs of the area for decades.
