DEPARTMENT FUNCTIONS
The Planning and Zoning Department strives to promote the community’s development while preserving a high quality of life. This is pursued through collaboration with members of the community along with the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Town Council.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing information regarding zoning regulations in accordance with Town Codes.
- Maintaining and updating the Town Zoning Map.
- Maintaining and updating the Town Zoning Codes.
- Enforcement of the Municipal Code.
- Reviewing and assisting applicants with zoning applications.
- Serving as a liaison to the Planning and Zoning Commission.

PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
The Planning and Zoning Commission’s duties are to review and make decisions, or recommendations to the Town Council in regard to zoning applications and proposals.
The Commission typically meets the 1st Wednesday of each month but may occasionally change the meeting date.

NOTICE
By participating in any correspondence, telephone conversation, discussion, meeting, or any other communication with a Town of Springerville employee, you agree and acknowledge that: (1) any information provided in a format other than written determination by the designated Zoning Administrator is preliminary in nature and shall not be relied upon for any purpose by the recipient or any other person or entity; (2) any information provided by a Town employee is not the equivalent of a title report or a real estate survey; (3) you are responsible for independently researching and verifying the information; (4) a Town employee is not authorized to bind the Town in any manner, except by formal Zoning Administrator determination; and (5) any error, omission, incorrect information, or false information provided by a Town employee shall not give rise to any liability on behalf of the Town of Springerville.
ZONING APPLICATIONS
Deadline for applications requiring a decision, or recommendation to the Council, by the Planning and Zoning Commission is twenty (20) calendar days in advance of the meeting date. It is the responsibility of the applicant to verify the meeting date and submit the completed application by 4:00 PM on the deadline day.
